The Business Development Office (BDO) promotes effective relationships between CanmetENERGY and its clients. Through these relationships, we create a gateway for the commercialization of intellectual property and for promotion opportunities in global energy markets.

Our mission is to further the marketability of CanmetENERGY’s products and services, enhance business opportunities, and foster access to international markets. We strive to position CanmetENERGY as a leader in clean energy technologies, with state-of-the-art research facilities. The Business Development Office accomplishes this by demonstrating that CanmetENERGY has the research and technology capabilities to meet clients’ needs, by providing information on divisional capabilities and technology transfer opportunities, by negotiating research and other types of agreements, and by encouraging the licensing of intellectual property. As part of our mission to promote the export of clean energy technologies, we also foster private-sector-participation-led research initiatives and assist in the formation of alliances/consortia.

The Business Development Office seeks business partnering opportunities in the field of energy technology research and development. Whether you represent Canadian industry, government, university, non-governmental organizations, associations, or are an international entity, we can facilitate your acquisition of rights to use CanmetENERGY technology and your participation in our research initiatives. The Business Development Office comprises 3 teams:
